Ew! What Are You Wearing?

Character Animation 2 - 1412

This is the second of two projects in my intermediate character animation class. I had a lot of fun with this particular project. The featured character's name is Maxwell. He is the adopted father of the first character I used for the first project. Although this project focuses on Lip Syncing, it also contains elements of the previous pantomime project as well. If anything, this project was ideally a progression or an improvement of the one before. I really enjoyed this project over the first one. You can never have too much fun with syncing a character's lips to a sound clip of dialogue. It really helped to bring the personality of the character to life for me. I've also included the reference videos I used to help me key this character. That was fun too, haha. Enjoy.

I'm Starving!

Character Animation 2 - 1412

This video is the first of two projects for my second character animation class. It focuses on strong storytelling poses and facial expressions because there is no sound or dialogue. The featured character is a young ant named Preston. He's an uppity rich bug that throws ridiculous temper tantrums when he doesn't get his way... and when he's hungry. Take a gander, haha. I plan on continuing this particular animation. By the time I'm done, it'll be about 12 seconds long. Stay tuned and enjoy. Also, I've included the reference videos used to help me key the poses of the character. Enjoy those too.

The Home Library

Model Creation - 1303

These screenshots are from my final turn-in for MCR. I was given the picture on the left side of the top image, and I was told to recreate the camera angle and the every single item seen in the picture (except the cat). Every book, every cushion, every single piece of furniture. It was the most ambitious modeling project I've ever done (notwithstanding the one I'm working on now), and I loved every moment of stress and frustration and excitement as this scene really came together.

Garage Props

Model Creation - 1303

The images above are screenshots from the projects of one of my favorite classes at Full Sail University. Model Creation was an absolute blast. I think I pulled the most all-nighters of my life this particular month as well. The most challenging piece was that garage door. You have to balance detail without overdoing the geometry (polygon count, triangle count) so that it is as efficient as possible, which truly is an excellent blend of art and skill. This class made me fall in love with modeling for environments and props, which is why I would like to specialize in it (amongst other things).
